Welome Pack
Cossington Parish Council produces a Welcome Pack for new residents with the aim of providing a starting point to help get to know the village and the surrounding area. The Pack provides a brief introduction to the village, surrounding landscape and its history - - and subscription details for the excellent local periodicals "The Link" and "The Polden Post". Cossington, Jan 1948
Cossington was featured as the first in a series of articles about Somerset villages in the Bridgwater Mercury, January 1948. The article can be downloaded here, kindly provided by the late Fred Cross of Great Tree Farm. The article incorrectly describes the "Big Tree" as a Yew - it was an Elm.

Edwardian Cossington
Mr. Godfrey Hebdon of Woolavington gave a most interesting and informative presentation to the Cossington Friends & Neighbours Group on Thursday 13th June 2013. It contains many photos of the village along with some fascinating historical detail. It can be downloaded by clicking on the image to the right. The Big Tree
The "Big Tree" (where Bell Lane meets Middle Road) was an 80ft high Elm which was felled due to terminal disease in 1977. By clicking on the old photo to the right you can find out more about it - and the stone monolith which has been erected in its memory
