Cossington Parish Council

Work along Brent Road / Cossington Lane

19th March 2015

The Parish Council have received several comments of concern relating to the site works currently taking place off Brent Road / Cossington.

There are two independent sets of works taking place - coincidentally at the same time. They relate to two planning application approvals i.e.

Application 22/11/00014 - The field next to the Vets previously used for grazing horses - approved in 2011 for four traveller pitches

Application 54/13/00016 - The old Mega Granite / Nursery site and buildings - approved in 2013 as a head office for Bridgwater-based Montana Scaffolding. We have spoken to Montana's MD, Alan Clark, in some detail about his plans. They aim to be up and running by May.

There also looks as though there has been some ground clearance behind the old Mega-Granite site. We have been informed that this is down to general ground maintenance to enable clearance of the surrounding drainage ditches. It has been carried out as part of the Montana work in consultation with the landowner and is outside the scope of the above or any other planning applications.

Further details on the above planning applications can be found by entering the above application numbers into a search on Sedgemoor Planning OnLine
