Dog Walker Access Route Opened

Updated: 31st July 2014

In the January edition of the Parish Council Newsletter we mentioned the idea of opening up a route from the Playing Field Car Park to the Sustrans Cycle Path for dog walkers - to avoid having to walk along Brent Road in the traffic.

Signs indicating the new route went up today - so the route is now officially open.

It should be noted that dogs are only allowed along this route on short leads - and are strictly not allowed anywhere else on the playing field or play area. Additional signs have been erected to reinforce this message.

It should be emphasised that this route has been opened up for a trial period. If it works well then we may consider improvements. If it is abused then we will have no option but to remove the facility.

Explanatory posters have been sited by the car park entrance gate and on the Playing Field noticeboard. You can download a copy  >>> here.

Following a successful trial period, it was agreed to make the route permanent at the July Parish Council meeting
