This charity was founded in 1898 by Mrs Luttrell of Edington Manor. It was set up to help those who are ill, in hardship or distress and are resident in Edington and neighbouring villages (being Burtle, Catcott, Chilton Polden and Cossington specifically).
We meet twice a year in spring and autumn to allocate grants but we can be flexible should the need arise. Notice of imminent meetings is usually published in the Polden Post with the cut-off date for applications.
We have awarded grants for transport, respite care, gardening, heating, house maintenance, household equipment and musical instruments. We have supported students on educational courses, residential camps and the World Challenge. We also support local organisations which benefit residents in the area specified above.
Applications for grants need to be received by
Friday 5th October 2018
to be considered at the next meeting of the charity
