Somerset County Council have today (20th April) advised the following:
An agreement has been reached to replace the First Bus service 375 through the Polden Villages that ends on 8 May 2016.
WebberBus have agreed to step in and serve the villages with their service 37 on a commercial basis. However, this change cannot be implemented until 31 May 2016, so there is a short interim period where WebberBus will provide access to peak journeys for work and college plus approximately a two hourly service in the off peak to/from the Polden Villages.
For the interim service buses will run between Bridgwater and Wells at peak times but for off peak a shuttle service will operate between Bridgwater and Street only. The bus being used for the shuttle service does not comply with current Accessibility Regulations, therefore the interim service cannot be registered and will thus operate free of charge to passengers.
From 31st May when full operation of the new service starts. almost all journeys on the 37 service will operate through the Polden Villages providing an hourly frequency throughout the day. All vehicles will then comply with Accessibility Regulations and normal fares will apply.
More details, including a downloadable timetable, can be found on the WebberBus website.
